Smart MaaS presented its mobility concepts at the “Tage der Digitalen Technologien”
On 14 and 15 May 2019, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) organised the “Days of Digital Technologies” in Berlin, an event where digital technology programs gathered and presented their results. In the panel discussion “Transport before the collapse, concepts urban and rural solutions”, Detlef Olschewski, managing director of Cleopa GmbH, presented the Smart MaaS project.
Traffic in Germany has increased steadily in recent years. The result is an overburdened infrastructure that can no longer accommodate growing traffic and a steady increase in environmental impact. In the forum the participants discussed how to break existing barriers and how to achieve sustainable solutions.
One of the topics the participants discussed during the panel was the type of solutions necessary to ensure that concepts from the different areas are mutually transferable. Detlef Olschewski stated that: “Our goal at Smart MaaS is not to build another platform, but a marketplace where smart services can be presented and easily accessed. We want to achieve a quicker implementation of smart ideas in the mobility sector and to make the inter-modal transport between public transport and private solutions getting better and leaner. Again and again new services will emerge, we just have to facilitate their fast implementation in the market. In the framework of the project, we find solutions on how to achieve this goal and how quickly we can scale it. For this we use the service marketplaces, as the one at Smart MaaS that will soon be presented in a pilot version, in order to make the smart ideas available to a larger audience and make their implementation faster, easier and cheaper. “
The project Smart MaaS is part of the technology program “Smart Service World II”, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
